I felt most engaged when Paul talked to the group about trailers and genre’s
2. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most distanced from what was happening?
I felt most distant towards the end of the day because I was starting to loose energy and keep with what I was doing.
3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?
The most helpful action I can take from today was when talking about research I found that what I was doing was correct and also the way I Harvard reference.
4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling?
I was most puzzled at how quiet it was in the class today and how every one just settled down to do work.
5. What about the class this week surprised you the most?
I was most surprised at the out come of people turning up today I feel that as the weeks are passing people are feeling the rush to get everything completed
1. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most engaged with what was happening? When we were discussing as a class the genre of trailers and how the directors can portray a genre through a trailer using iconic images and cliche’s.
2. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most distanced from what was happening? I felt most distanced when trying to figure out how to present my secondary research for this unit so far.
3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful? It was helpful when I was shown a good way to present my research and it reassured me that I wasn’t behind with my work because I hadn’t presented on my blog to date; it was OK to show all my research at the end of the unit.
4. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find the most confusing puzzling? I found it confusing when I looked back at films I had watched for this project so far and couldn’t think how to show this as secondary research towards this unit. Also, when I was looking for books that would help me with this project and that I could reference in my essay.
5. What about the class this week surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to what went on, or something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.) Was most surprised to learn that studios generally stick to a specific genre and some are known to be involved with certain types of films. I didn’t realise this was the case to this extent, has shown me that maybe I need to watch some more varied films and research into which studios and directors make what types of films.
